Is there a threshold where you run the risk of multiple breadbasket failures in any given year. I know there's no tenth of a degree that is a cliff, but I'd there any level where it's obvious things are much worse and it's a non linear risk.

A bit late to comment on this but it would be nice to have a follow-up post on "greening". This is a trope of deniers, that the world has been greening for the last few decades, and they of course ascribe that to rising CO₂. I had a hard time finding my way through the literature on the subject.

The optimal for plant photosynthesis is at least 1000ppm c02. They also use less water at thst level

if you actually put 1000 ppm of CO2 into the atmosphere, you would end up with around 6 deg C of global average warming, about the same warming than we had since the last ice age. it seems like that would be pretty bad for agriculture.
