A great heat dome explanation/graphic, Andrew. The simple truths of high to low movement of heat transfer and fluid pressure has got to be grasped by all.

Have become a cooldowner. Every method to mitigate heat 🥵 is my current interest. Then it gets cold. And I forget. One day it might not get cold.

As a retired forecaster I applaud your explanation of how summer anticyclones lead to heat waves. Winter anticyclones cause settled but often cloudy weather, with low stratocumulus, stratus or even fog beneath a temperature inversion that can be as low as 1,000 feet. The warmest places can be mountain tops that project from the cloud top into brilliant sunshine, warmer air and low humidity.
